When I was a little girl I remember reading about schutzhund (IPO) in a CKC dog book and since then I've always thought that the sport was the ultimate in dog training. I have had dogs my entire life, but never the opportunity or the right dog for this type of training. At the beginning of 2011 after working with several shepherds for a local animal rescue, I finally began the search for a GSD to start schutzhund (IPO) with. I looked at a few other breeds as well but I can’t imagine any other dog being quite as special as the GSD.
It didn’t take long for me to get hooked on this amazing sport! Sadly, I lost my nearly 2 year old shepherd, Thunder, due to Cancer before we were able to get her BH. She definitely taught me a lot about myself and my perspective on training.
I am now the proud owner of young male, Ace-Cobra vom Bergblick. I'm excited for what the future holds for this pup as he grows up! As well as training, I am enjoying learning the helper work. Its incredibly cool to be a part of training on the other end of the leash so to speak. I got my entry level certification in the Fall of 2012.
